Tuesday Thoughts

  • This weekend we went to the Exotic Resort Zoo in Johnson City near Marble Falls (West of Austin) this weekend. Meh, it was ok.

  • I'd love to live down in the hill country I just don't know if I could live near all the wanna-be San Francisco people near Austin.

  • For 4 people to eat at the Bluebonnett Cafe in Marble Falls it was $25.00! Now thats a deal!

  • I got the PVC run down to the shed and got the trench filled back in. Now I need to run the electrical through it.

  • There was a segment on Sunday Morning on CBS where a black reporter was talknig about the racist college student who posted a video on Asians at her college. The reporter seemed totally shocked that someone dared not be like everyone else and politically perfect. This whole segement was bashing her. Really? Isn't there something more useful you could have reported on than your distan for some white racist bimbo?

  • Eliminating racism is an excersise in futility.

Wednesday Thoughts

  • The carwash on Eagle Drive SUCKS. The stuff there hardly ever works right.
  • Do you remember Arcadia (the Duran Duran side project)? Check out these two songs. Their big hit and their other hit with Sting singing backup vocals. Greatness.
  • I am having 'focus' issues now. I can't find anything to be excited about.

Monday Thoughts

  • Went to WinStar Friday night to see Duran Duran. FANTASTIC. A lot of moms coming unhinged at that concert (acting like teens again).
  • Note to self... NEVER go to WinStar on a Friday night.
  • Only got to gamble for like twenty minutes. :(
  • I hauled out the slide projector this weekend. I love that thing. Viva la 'Old Technology'!
  • Got the garden started too. Last year all we had success with was cilantro.
  • I also moved my PC back to the 'library room' since the cold weather is over and I won't get frozen out.

That's Simon from the Duran Duran concert Friday.

Flew the old kite Sunday... man that's fun.

Wednesday Thoughts

  • I used the tractor the contractor left at my house last night... oops.
  • I had some Ebay buyer troubles this last week. You ahve to watch out for people who have 0 feedback. They don't know how Ebay works...
  • I called their customer service (which I guess is in India). I got my issue resolved.
  • With my model business I do ALOT of shipping at the post office.
  • When I had my comic books store in 2002 I did $14,000 worth of shipping with them!

Rest stop sign in Texas (when we were heading to Colorado).

This is a 'sign fail' on one of the empty lots out near my house. Really, how hard is it to spell land???

Monday Thoughts

  • Remember my last post when I talked about how much reporters love disasters? Have you been watching the Japan coverage? I think you see my point, don't you?
  • BBC reporters are just as bad (if not worse) as any US reporter as well.
  • Still waiting on the house work to be finished.
  • stuck at work until 8 friday night because some decided to change out a piece of important hardware on a Friday afternoon... who does that?
  • We went to Sam's Club this weekend... yikes! That place is where people go to mooch free samples of food. I doubt anyone was actually buying anything there.
  • There were also all these sales people bugging you... sheeh!
  • Note to self: go to Sams only uring the 7a-8a 'business only' hours in future, not on the weekends.

Tuesday Thoughts

  • Did you know that in 1933 President Franklin D. Roosevelt outlawed the private ownership of gold because of the Great Depression?
  • I am stuck at home today while workers level my house.
  • I have always thought NPR were a bunch of smug, 'I'm better than you' types. This article only proves it.
  • Watching coverage in Lybia of reporters right in the middle of fighting reminds me that News Agencies and Reports love disaster and mayhem (despite ANYTHING they say). I bet 9/11 was like a giant reporter orgasm. They couldn't have been happier.
  • I am having lots of fun with my iPhone 3GS. I hate Apple but this device is OUTSTANDING. Worth the $50.00 I paid for it ten times over.
    • The house 'before' all the work...

      Wednesday Thoughts

      • My truck looks to be giving out finally. Time to shop for a new one and put up with all the dealer crap.
      • I saw some nurse poke and prod half of the cookies in the cafe this morning. You would have thought she was buying a car.
      • A UNT clinic here in North Texas is having a United Way drive with a vasectomy as the grand prize! I kid you not!
      • I got an iPhone. I am still refusing to load iTunes on my PC.
      • What the hell does the 'i' stand for?
      • I noticed that a lot of companies use that 'i'.
      • Down at the pool there are some toddler swim pants called iSwim... really???
