Walmart Walk 1/8/20

Just finding some stuff at Walmart:

Lanard (who makes the cheap knock off G.I. Joe has been getting some real licenses lately. They got Kong, Jumanji, and now Aliens! These are existing men from their other sets, as well as the 'power suit' but the aliens and the vehicle are new. It's kinda impressive but still seem pretty cheap. You can read more about my Lanard thoughts here on my Army Men reviews

Seems like Hot Wheels got cheap here. The middle wheel is not real. The design just looks sloppy. I appreciate what they were tying to do here, but it came off poorly.

What?! Bleccch.

Wednesday Thoughts

  • I have been drinking Dr. Pepper 10 for a while now and I still wonder why they used the Star Trek font on the bottle. It looks kinda home-made, like something I did for the show.
  • I discovered today that Exxon will not let you buy more than 100.00 worth of gas on one transaction... the way things are going they are going to need to adjust that.
  • This coming weekend is Comicon. I hope to rake it in!
  • My friend Chris and I have created a 'paper and pencil' game to sell at Comicon. It comes complete with dice, rules, and map inside a nifty plastic case. It's called WhimWars. I got the domain name but haven't gotten anything out there yet.
  • I am getting closer to having my mom's rent house finished.
  • They have torn up the parking lot infront of Walmart in Decatur. I heard long ago that Panda Express was going there but the site seems awfully big for that... we will see.

Monday Thoughts

  • Went to Hoffbrau Steakhouse this weekend in FW off University. I had always assumed (from childhood) that Hoffbrau was a high class place... WRONG. It was good though.
  • Did you ever notice that Mr. Grace from Are You Being Served was the Deus Ex Machina of the series? He would always show up at the end and resolve whatever was going on.
WTF!? This should say... 'Old Stale Bakery Products' lol.

Tuesday Thoughts

  • When did the flip flop become the national shoe?
  • Why does civilization revolve around alchahol? I don't need it why does everyone else?
  • I bet Obama would hate shopping at Target at Montgomery Plaza, too many middle class white people with their hard earned money.
  • When I helped open the Target in Burleson they said it wasn't a Super Target becasue there was a HEB going up across the street in the future.
  • The HEB is almost finished (6 years later) and now I see signs saying that Target will be carrying food soon...
  • The Walmart in Burleson got a complete makeover recently as well.
  • I BET both stores are reacting to the forthcoming HEB.
  • Competition is great. The consumer wins!
  • Bush senior's crap line was 'no new taxes' Obama's is 'it's fully paid for'.
  • He loves throwing that one around.

Monday Thoughts

  • There is this old lady who works the doors at the Burleson Walmart who is... a little strange. I don't think she really listens to what you say when she says hello or goodbye. Saturday morning after she did her crazy 'bye' I said 'cheese'. I don't think she ever noticed.
  • There are some hills out infront of our house and in the morning when I am leaving you can usually see some cows milling about out there. It's very beau colic.
  • I finished watching all 11 season of MASH (again). The last episode is a little too long. It was nice it was all wrapped up thought. Many shows just end without resolution.
  • Watching a show like that makes me wonder how I would have dealt with being drafted and going to war...
  • It makes me think I have lead a very easy life.
  • So now the scuttle is that the democrats might bypass a proper vote if they loose their super majority because of the Massachusetts vote (with some special type vote).
  • Are they really trying to loose THAT big in the next election?
  • If they do pass it by hook or by crook they will go on and on (no matter how crappy and useless the bill will be) of how the democrats passed 'sweeping reform'. Puke.
  • Payback is a bitch.
  • I don't like federal holidays. I work in the healthcare industry and they mean nothing to us except, no mail and no open banks.
  • Chris came over Thursday and we played some netrunner and filmed a little bit for Season 2 of the show.

Secret code... nah

It's the back of my temporary radio operator license plate. It was a handy place to write notes on. This is actually a list of times. When I bought a new radio for my truck I went cheap and got one at walmart for like 30.00. It plays MP3s (which is what I wanted)... one problem... when you turn off the truck, the radio does not save your place in the MP3... No biggie, right? Well, I listen to audio books (for the most part) while I am in my truck so the tracks are like 45-110 minutes long... you can see my problem now can't you? Basically I have to denote the time before I shut off my truck on this handy dandy note card. This sheet represents about four months of driving and audio book listening.
