I've been out of town for the last week visitin' my brother in Colorado.
Went snowmobiling on Christmas day. Done it before. I think once was enough.
I finally saw Tron... in 3D and Imax.
The verdict is in... I can do without 3D.
I am starting up a business again selling Anime models. Maybe this time it will work.
I will NOT be opening up a shop however.
Tuesday James, Chris, and Loren came over for a game day. We played The New Dungeon, Carcassone, and Skull And Sword. Before the others got there James and I played Carcassone Castle.
I have ordered Darth Vader's FX Ligthsaber with removable blade from Entertainment Earth. I can't wait to get it.
My job is being extra stingy this year with Christmas bonuses. Really stingy! From 350+ dollars last year to... wait for it... 50 dollars this year. 35 dollars after tax... sheesh.
I STILL can't complain. One year I got 7 dollars from Kmart.
I get so envious when I hear of companies giving their employees 1,000 or more bucks for a Christmas bonus.
Time is approaching for 2011 yearly goals to be set. I think I have some big ones coming this year.
I ordered Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 on Bluray for myself for Christmas. There is something about them that I really like.
We are having a Unitedway drawing for a 47" TV today. After my tough lesson learned several years back... I will not be spending any more than 1 dollar on this drawing.
Is it just me or do young guys who wear hats like this just come across as automatic douche bags?
I finally got to watch Iron Man 2 last night. Man that movie is so full of holes. Here is a big one... Black Widow (the Shield Agent) gets into the bad guy's PC and 'reboots' Rhodes suit... why couldn't she have simply turned off all the drones while she was at it???
What's nicer than getting an award for your production business??? Getting one in the mail yesterday that had your name on it.
I am trying out Ubuntu Linux on an extra PC at my desk at work. It runs so much smoother that Windows... too bad it doesn't support everything Windows does.
I better keep quiet, it administration hears about a free OS, I will be installing it on all 900 PCs here...
Chris came over last week (for the first time in for forever) and we discussed goals and such. It's that time again... have to stay on top of them this time.
I signed up for an account at Xtranormal (the place that video above is from) a while back but couldn't think of a funny script to write for it.
Went to Durant to the Choctaw casino and didn't see what the big deal was. I lost my money just as fast as I do at WinStar. However... they do have 'let it ride' on the gaming tables. That's cool.
I got my MAME arcade machine back up and running yesterday.
I had a burger from the Wendy's in Decatur (finally). The meat on the hamburger wasn't as good as other Wendy's. I guess the employees need a little more time to figure out the best way to cook them. I noticed they weren't as squished as other Wendy's. Maybe that's the trick.
So I was sitting at my desk on the phone on a trouble call when I felt my office shake and shimmy. I thought it was just someone moving heavy equipment upstairs in the surgery area (it happens) but apparently it was an Earthquake in Oklahoma!
I am tired of all the bad driving I have been experiencing lately. It's mainly city folk.
I shall say once more... this last week was the WORST for bad drivers. People need to chill the F out.
Work is getting stressful for no good reason.
We had a garage sale on Saturday. Brought in about 300.00. Didn't sell nearly as much as I had hoped for.
Packed the rest up for some other time.
I could probably make 2x or 3x more if I spent the time to put it on Ebay.
Chris wants us to focus on selling stuff on Ebay...
Yuck. It takes soooooooo much time for so little profit to do that.
Plus Ebay triple dips on you. You pay to list the item, you pay when it sells, and you pay a fee on Paypal payment (which is almost the only way people can pay anymore).
This week has been 'the drivers from hell' week. People have been behaving so badly recently.
Do you remember that really old Goofy cartoon where he changes into an evil thug when he gets behind the wheel? Those were some great cartoons. Here it is!
I am having a garage sale on Saturday. I dread 'early bird' shoppers. Wish I could just put it all outside during then night.
I have discovered my wife has just as much junk as I do... just in boxes, not spread throughout the house.
Remember when I talked about doing that interview for Hangman's House of Horrors? Here it is!
My free time seems so little. I am always doing something.
The imaging center at work flooded out last night, I know how they feel.
The insurance company paid off the car (the current value) but the bank has yet to remove the 4,500 balance (cause i have GAP insurance). I hope they don't try to get out of it or I have to make an October payment (since I have a payment due on the new car too).
I didn't even notice a Family Dollar go in where Weatherford college was in Decatur. I never shop there so it was no big thing.
The Candlewood suites is about 50% done. It's off Eagle drive behind the hospital. I can't imagine them doing ANY business (unless it's hospital business).
There are so many hotels in Decatur as it is I don't see how any of them stay in business.
We had 3 showings at the house this weekend. Haven't heard a peep. I wish I knew what was turning people off of it. It's more than $20,000 less than it's value!
I noticed the Halloween sections at stores are VERY small this year. Yeah economy!
We reduced the price on our house to the lowest it can go without losing money.
We have not had one showing in two weeks.
I think I am going to have to 'promote' myself to help desk supervisor since they need more supervision. It's not so much a promotion as a task that no one wants.
Was supposed to be back Wednesday but floods from the hurricane TOTALED my wife's car.
Spent Tuesday (not) filming sketches at Trinity park in Fort Worth.
Just got a couple of minutes of stuff out there since it was raining all day (and everyone who was supposed to help besides Chris FLAKED OUT).
Do you remember Laser Discs? I used to have them. It was THE way to get the highest quality picture back in the days of VHS.
I spent WAY TOO MUCH money on those.
I spent 75.00 on Jurassic Park when it came out. What an experience though!
I spent almost 300.00 on the Star Wars Difinitive Collection set.
IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY.
I watched it again (in 2008) and the Laser Disc quality looked like VHS (compared to DVD). It was very sad. But back in the day that was super high definition!
Do you remember Video Disc? If you do, you are too old.
NPR had this segment on the Tea Party and their adoption of the book The Spider and the Starfish. The commentator kept asking questions of the author that basically asked how can this Tea Party come apart and is the Tea Party run by a few people as a political ruse. When he didn't get the liberal answers he wanted his very last line was a flat out jab. "Apparently neither spiders or starfish have much in the way of brains".
NPR is such a liberal shit hole.
Too bad we pay for it with our tax money. That's the only reason I don't bag on WBAP or Fox, we aren't having to pay for their bias.
That's the reason I just can't bring myself to give to either them or channel 13.
Pitty because I love watching British Comedies.
It takes me 1 hour to get home (or work).
I am about to install my old tape deck back into the truck so I can listen to all the audio books I bought at library sales over the last three years.
That's a great way to spend my drive time.
I still have (and remember) the first MP3 I downloaded ever.
We are moved now. My favorite motto is: 'A place for everything and everything in it's place.'
Its so nice to be close to everything.
Traffic sucks but I have found a way around the traffic.
I sent off for a 'rocket firing' BobaFett figure from the New Star Wars line. Everything that was old is new again (except the customers who now have cash to spend on this stuff).
Decatur seems 'sleepy' compared to Fort Worth now.
I can now see whats playing on Public Access TV in Fort Worth opposite of my show...
I REALLY need new stuff out there. I need to fill in those time slots!
Television is 80% reality show now... Oh man that SUCKS!
I cringe when I see a reality show on. How low has our society sunk?
NPR is annoying with their 'better than you' liberal mentality.
WBAP is annoying with their weekend 'thinly veiled commercial-shows' and CONSTANT commercials.
Both of those stations are better than all the other stations combined though.
When you look at all the old Star Wars figures (from the 70's - 80's) you will notice that they (many times) don't look anything like their counterparts on screen. It looks like all they were concerned about is the head, everything else was up to the sculptor.
I am 9+ hours behind on sleep for the week. I can feel it creeping up on me. Time for a weekend four hour nap and a sleep in on Sunday.
Since our house is 80+ years old I am curious if anyone has ever died there (from natural causes or whatever). I wonder if there is a website where you could find that info.
I am scared to know.
Ignorance is bliss (unless you are voting for a liberal).
Why is the government interfering with Arizona law? Why would ANY law abiding citizen be against removing illegals? They aren't being executed, just sent back home.
Today I have been plagued with old people walking slowly in front of me. I want to rip my hair out.
Did I already mention that Wendy's is coming to Decatur? I think so.
So Donkey Kong will cost about 250.00 to bring back to life. That includes a neat add on that adds new levels to the game.
I have a MAME cabinet (a PC that emulates 90% of arcade games). Its in storage right right. Here's a pic...
I got ahold of a Donkey Kong arcade machine Tuesday. I will see if it works. If not, I will make a MAME cabinet out of it.
Went to WinStar this weekend. FAIL.
That trip to the Galleria and Farmers Market... uuuuggggghhhhhhh.
News articles that prove this is the end times... HereHere
Watched Avatar on Blu-Ray. Wow. What an impressive movie.
Did you realize that Avatar is basically Pocahontas?
Was going to bring my VW Beetle to work to get it inspected but it died in the driveway as I was pulling out. Maybe its out of gas.
I have narrowed the issue with the riding lawnmower, the cylinders have crud build up and it's not allowing compression to happen easily. I will have to clean it out.
I have no idea how to do that so it will be a learning experience.
Wendy's is coming to Decatur! They have the best fast food hamburger I have ever eaten (the double meat).
I watched 2012 last night on Blu Ray, it wasn't as bad as all the critics said it was. It was better than Al Gore's Day after Tomorrow. (ok, not Al Gore's).
The lawnmower wouldn't start last night. Arrrrhhhhggggg!!!!
I also cut down the last of the dead parts of the willow tree behind the house. Parts of it died after that lightning strike last year that zapped our AC unit.
Farkle is down on Facebook! Panic!
Looks like we are going to lower the price on the house one more time next month and then calling it quits if it doesn't sell. If we do find a buyer we will basically break even.
I have a put a crapload of money into that place. What a waste.
I feel like we were really taken when all this stuff showed up after we bought it. Remember that movie the money pit, like that.
Thursday we both get paid full paychecks for the first time in 2 years... time to pay off some debt!
So, in the ObamaCare health bill... if you purchase more than $600 worth of bullion (gold, silver, etc) you have to fill out a 1099...................
In the the health care bill.......
This sort of sneakiness (which goes on all the time in Washington) is insidious.
I now have a Motorola Tundra cell phone, military grade plastic. Can handle this.
Chainsawed the 2 dead trees in the front yard this weekend. Looks so bare now.
Still no buyers. Or even lookers. This economy sucks royally.
According to the current government it's Bush's fault (even though he had a democrat congress).
So when the economy starts moving in the other direction, who's fault will that be?
Lemme guess...
So why do you go through all the trouble of a financial reform bill when 2 of the largest reasons for the disaster (FannieMae and FreddieMac) are totally left out of the reform?
Me and my coworker were just in that store (it's across the street from the hospital) last week and I noted that they were selling porn. Interesting.
Saturday was horrible. I got all the way into Fort Worth and forgot my wallet (after already ordering at McDonalds).
The walmart in Burleson TOTALLY changed inside. Everyone was walking around lost. It would have been funny if I weren't lost too.
Doesn't the estate tax just seem obscene? You work all your life to acquire wealth and the government feels it has the right to take almost half of it. Fuck them!
The new Obama Health Care Stimulus Law is going to require that not only is your weight and height in your electronic medical record but your obesity rating (BMI) will be required as well...
That's so they can open the door to punishing fat people by taxing them or making them pay more for heath care in the future... MARK MY WORDS.
I want to see a blood bath at the polls this year... and I want to see all this crap repealed.
Got in the pool because it was hot yesterday. Expecting nice cool water... it like getting into a warm bath... yuck.
Have you tried the mini-funnel cakes at Jack in the Box? It's nice you don't have to wait for the stock show or state fair to have one now!
Well, after much work it looks like my riding lawnmower is for the graveyard. I just don't know enough more about it to keep it going. EDIT - I got it working again with the help of a neighbor!
I had a guy come mow the yard yesterday since I was still working on the mower. They didn't show up until 8:45PM and finished at 9:50PM. How in the heck can you mow in the dark?
There is something new going in in front of the IGA Foodliner (now called Marketplace) in Decatur. I wonder if it will be the CVS they are talking about...
I never understood calling a grocery store Foodliner.
I watched the new Star Trek last night on blu ray. Still don't like all the light glares they added for effect.
It has been revealed that the Senator's race in Minnesota might have been WRONG. As it turns out 300+ ineligible criminals voted for Franken and he won by that many votes. politics is such a joke.
So, the government decided to STOP the airlines from stranding passengers inside airplanes for hours by making them pay fines (when there is some runway delay)... What happens now? Instead of incurring all these fines, the airlines just cancel the flights right before the fines incur! Thanks government!
I watched Episodes 2 & 3 of the Star Wars Trilogy yesterday. Man, Lucas needed a ghostwriter. Yikes the script is bad! It's scifi, not Shakespeare.
This weekend was another 'douche bag drivers' weekend.
The starter for the lawn mower should be here today, so I will be mowing until dark.
When your grass gets too high the bugs get too big.
Anyone else notice we have had a very bad year for red wasps?
I get first notice of who is a bout to be fired here at work (in relation to cutting their account access). Interesting job.
I feel Obama might be the first president that isn't *for* America. He seems more interested in changing things that he and his party feel is right for them... not America.
If you are president you need to be 'all about America'.
Scared a poor little three foot snake while I mowing yesterday (with the push mower).
The riding mower is out of commission while I wait on a new starter.
That thing has had so many parts replaced I think it's officially a 'kit' mower.
5th Anniversary yesterday. Bought a ridiculously expensive edible bouquet.
I have read reports that Caucasians will possibly become the minority in 2011. Other reports say 2050. When ever that is... it will be VERY interesting to see what happens.
VERY INTERESTING.
Lebron James is going to sign with the Nicks, right? He is a heavy Obama supporter and Obama is all about wealthredistribution... If he goes to New York he will be able to give 12 million in extra state taxes out of his contract so the poor people can have more... he do it will right??? Wrong. If you remember my rant long ago I said that liberals are ALL MOUTH but when it comes time to actually put your money where you mouth is, they are phony. At least conservatives are honest about wealth making/keeping.
People are starting to claim that the 10% tan tax is racist... I never really thought about that... interesting. It is redistributing the wealth from white to lazy people (oops, poor people).
Do you ever try the links on the left? Try the English Russia one. I am always amazed when you see $400,000 cars sitting in Russia slums.
There was this item at the gas station called a toy bowl. It looks ALOT like a bong. The top part contains a toy and the 'bowl' part has juice in it. Suspicious!!!
You won't believe this shit but my 'reconstructed' hard drive (after the HD disaster fell over and broke too). I kid you not. Could ANYONE be unluckier.
I am going to WinStar tonight. Going to see just how unlucky I am.
Went to the Fort Worth Zoo on Sunday. There is so much evidence of the 'old zoo' still around. I wish there was a website with old maps and pics of it from years ago.
The worst of the trailer trash mobile home was hauled away Friday. So nice!
If you go into a McDonald's to use their wifi have the decency to at least buy one item.
I cannot believe what the president said this weekend. If you ever doubted he was a Socialist, his statement puts a nail in that coffin.
He wants us to live like our comrades across the sea, all equal in concrete blocs, not working, relying on him to feed us. HONESTLY, I think he does.
The wife and I went to see Wicked Wednesday night at Fair Park in Dallas. You can read my review here.
I just saw the Congress is trying to pass another 2,000+ bill on financial regulation...
They admit they don't know how it will work until it's in place... sheesh!
Why is the financial future of our whole nation (and likely the world) in the hands of people who got where they are by campaigning??? They should only be allowed to make these decisions if they are economic professors or something! It's so frustrating!
We ate at Outback before seeing Wicked. It was the worst experience I have ever had there. I love that place and will go back. I just made sure I let them know it was bad.
Our hedgehog died last night. They don't live very long. She died at the ripe old age of 3.
There was a nasty 90+ MPH accident involving 4 teens just North of Decatur. I think 2 were decapitated and the other 2 are in hospital. They NEED to haul whats left of that car and put it right outside the high school for a month.
Tonight we are going to see Wicked in Dallas. 3 Rows back in the middle. We will be able to see up their noses!
Continuing on my murderous rampage of small animals (like the rabbit I killed a few weeks back) I killed a little frog with the weed eater yesterday. :(
Why are fliesattracted to our president? I have seen 3 instance were files were an issue with him.
I finished watching TimeSlip (the 70's scifi British show). They just jumped the shark to end it. Seemed they didn't know how to end it.
The bees were going crazy in the crepe mertyl this morning.
Don't you hate soda company contests now a days? They say every bottle wins and it usually something crappy (like unlocking some crappy feature on a game system you don't even own). Either way YOU HAVE to go online and put a code in. That SUCKS!
Don't you remember when Dr. Pepper had a contest and 1 in 4 caps had a winner in it? You just took the cap to the store and got another 20oz. That was awesome!
Do you remember the coke contest where they put actually cash in the cans? They were elaborate phony cans that would 'eject' the cash when you opened it. It felt like a regular can of coke too. That was double awesome.
This story lets you know how namby-pamby this nation has turned. We need a good old war on our own turf to toughen us up.
The interwebs was out at our house all night. I thought we might have a riot on our hands.
The wife got a job at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. She starts next month... I am very relieved. I will be more so when I can remove her off my insurance and save 200.00 a paycheck.
After I got 2 (the Census is coming) notices from the government as well as a bag, pen, notepad, and water bottle and finally the actual Census (back in April) I got a visit Monday from Census workers who asked me the exact same thing that was on the form I filled out back in April. Why not do it twice at twice the price? These people are about to start running our healthcare...
The oil spill is like blood in the water when it comes to the government seeing ways to grab more money. I don't think the US government would even blink if they caused this company to go under.
Ever listen to Mark Levin, he is great. He throws these tantrums about the government and it is so entertaining.
Rush Limbaugh has almost become a caricature nowadays.
Got about half way through re-editing episode 1 of season 3 last night.
Was going to get the beetle inspected today but it started acting up this morning.
Why does Subway feel the need to make you feel bad about what you eat in order to drum up business?
People who shop in Goodwill need to touch everything. I guess that's why I shop there.
They knocked down the Wedgewood bowl in Fort Worth. What a sad day. It's been closed for nearly 20 years though. The last time I went there was with my step father's brother back in the 80's.
It was another weekend full of bad, nasty, and slow drivers.
I ate at the new Taco Casa in Decatur last week. It was nearly 8 bucks for 4 tacos and a tea. I remember when my mom used to send me to the local Taco Casa in Fort Worth where I got tacos 4 for a dollar!
Why do all the Frank Kent billboards in Fort Worth say nothing about cars? All they ever do is show and tell you how great the Frank Kent family is. "Look hot we are. And were' richer than you too."
The worst of the worst white trash finally abandoned their mobile home in our general neighboorhood. I am very happy about that.
I got my Beetle back from the shop... and immediatley ran over a poor bunny with it. :(
I saw a Bloom County comic collection in the Half Price clearance section. Does anyone like that strip? I equate it with Calvin and Hobbes... SNOOOOZZZEEE
The buyers flaked out (after holding our house hostage for 2 months)!
I have a REAL bad taste in my mouth when it comes to the whole realestate thing now.
This weekend was 'annoy your neighbors with your ATVs' weekend.
This weekend was also 'shop till you drop to honor our troops' weekend.
I remember when you rented an apartment you paid X amount of dollars for rent. Now a days you pay X dollars + gas +water +waste water/sewer. They don't tell you have to pay for all this extra stuff until YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT TO SIGN the lease.
I hate apartments.
We went to one of my favorite shopping places this weekend (Goodwill). It seems like everyone there was a 'I have to touch EVERYTHING on the shelves' type of shopper.
Apparently CVS is coming to Decatur. I like CVS better than Walgreens.
Did you know Walgreens used to be Wallgreen? People added an 's' to the end for so long the company changed the name.
Can you remember Eckards? All you have to do is think of Walgreens and change all the signs. Drugstore chains ALL LOOK THE SAME INSIDE.
Does it really take a whole MONTH to process a home loan? Really...
Tonight is 'yard work' night. Too exciting.
Pancho's is... blech. I'm surprised there are any left.
Several years back Pancho's went 'healthy' by changing their mascot to a thinner, healthier guy... I have noticed that NONE of the 'healthy' Pancho mascot restaurants are open around here...
The data recovery place says the hard drive is unrecoverable. I am calling bullshit on that. I am sending it to another place.
I was able to get into the pool last week. Still chilly, but good enough.
The economy is still in a 'recovery'? Yeah, right.
I just watched the Nightmare on Elm Street Doco: 'Never Sleep Again'. If you ever wanted to know anything about that movie series check it out.
The 3rd season of Time Slip is in black and white again... I guess the color season finale was just a one time special. That's an interesting concept, using color to make an episode an extra special event.
Taco Casa here in Decatur is almost open. I saw someone at Walmart in a Taco Casa uniform.
The crappy hotel next to 287 (I think its a Super 8) finally emptied out their pool. It was like a black swamp. It gets that way every year.
I had a horrible accident this weekend. I knocked over my external hard drive and the hard drive broke. It had EVERYTHING I save on it! I am having to send it away to have the data recovered.
I was just finishing Episode 1 of Season 3 when it happened. Arrrrg!
The back of my Suave Ocean Breez shampoo says it will make you feel ocean fresh... The marketing person who wrote that has obviously never been in the ocean.
The pool is STILL too cold to get in.... come on already!!!
I watched the Collector this weekend... ehhhhh.
I watched Surrogates this weekend. It was ok. I like movies set in the not too distant future.
I watched the 2nd set from TimeSlip (a 70's British sci fi show). It was all in black and white until the final episode. Really strange to see it in color all the sudden.
Is it just me or should the Wise County Messenger just be renamed - The Wise County Traffic Accident Report?
There is a point when you house is so clean that you don't see it being clean anymore and you start seeing all the stuff that needs to be cleaned (but that no one else sees).
Out of the whole year the pool in the backyard is only swimable for like 3 months at the most.
I found some great board games on Amazon that were crazy cheap. I can't wait to get them in the mail.
It's mother's day weekend. Sunday is going to be a beating if you plan on going out to eat.
Visited LoneStar Park Friday night. I was surprised to find kids there. With all the booze and betting...
We picked up library cards from Benbrook then went to the Central Fort Worth Library to check out books. We had to get cards from Benbrook to keep from paying FW to get books.
Its been a few months since I have gotten to go to the FW library. There was a bunch of new audio books! Yay!
I upgraded my PC at work and ran fiber from it straight to the core switch. Super fast!!!
Ate at Outback on Saturday. Oh man I love those steaks!
I was watching Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone. You can visibly see Harry age from scene. It's distracting.
The next 2 weeks is make for break for my wife and her future career.
Taco Casa in Decatur is almost done. There is a hiring sign out there now.
I bet Taco Bell is shaking in their toastadas.
Interested in music lyrics and how important they are? Read this (up to 5 parts now) blog stream from my friends.
I am composing a blog about illegal aliens and the whole Arizona thing for the other blog, so check it out starting Monday.
The title says it all: What part of 'illegal' don't you understand. The balance between law and compassion.
It's that time of the year when we have to do all that annoying insurance at work thing.
Today is the 3rd paycheck of the month... no insurance take out! Woohoo!
I think one of the most endearing phrases to come from the Internet is the phrase made for photos of cats and dogs where they are saying: 'Do not want'. It's so funny.
My VW is still in the shop. I am almost afraid to call and ask about it because I am not sure I will have the cash on hand to pay for the repairs.
I was home the other day when there was this huge boom and the house shook. I thought something happened to the house (the the carport collapsed or something).
Read later that it was believed to be a sonic boom of a jet. At first they thought it was a gas well explosion. Probably a secret government project.
The pool is still to cold to get in. I am guessing it won't be till the end of May that I can comfortably get in.
I have been sicker than a dog for the last 5 days. I hope I am beyond the halfway point.
IMO weddings are such a waste of money. I like them enough, they just cost soo much.
Have you ever thought how much of your actual pay goes to taxes? I mean ALL taxes (not just the ones that you see on your pay stub) like sales tax, auto registration, auto inspection, gasoline tax (you know).
I think that if you tallied it all up you would see you pay about 50% or more of your pay to the government.
Some studies suggest it's more like 65%.
It's all hidden so it's less noticeable and the people don't revolt.
If they took it all out at once I think you would find many many more people voting.
How can the government, in this time of great economic woe (jobless claims rose more than expected) turn around and create massive debt (the 'health bill') and ignore the suffering of the nation. Will they get away with it during the election???
Another note about Ben Franklin: He came up with the term on all our currency: e pluribusunum. He also designed the first US currency.
I am sick but I don't know who gave it to me. Everyone around me is sick at the moment.
I had to work on the pipes under the house for the last couple of days. What a drag!
This weekend is going to suck big time. I just want it over.
Am I the only one who isn't very interested in 3D movies. I think it would be too distracting to have to wear glasses.
People who eat salad are RUDE. Case in point: the wife and I went to Soupersalad this weekend and saw whiny person after whiny person. They need some protein.
People who eat fancy food are RUDE. Sunday we went to Cheesecake Factory. Whiny people EVERYWHERE. Complain complain complain.
We truly live an a nation of selfish and spoiled people.
Some interesting fact about Benjamin Franklin: He invented the first battery, the matching grant, the lighting rod, and bifocals. Dude was smart.... he never went to college.
Walked the trinity yesterday it was nicer later in the day so it was very pleasant.
I got out in the yard yesterday and did a lot of work. Its like a swamp so needless to say I was very muddy when I was done.
I cleaned out the fireplace last night and used my shopvac to get the last bits in the corners. When I was done I got up and looked around... the house was shrouded in 'fog'. Time to get the duster out.
The A/C people came out to work on the heater... they didn't fix it. Its less than a year old and it has been worked on twice now.
I did a crap load of work yesterday. The house lists on Wednesday! Still have a lot to do but I might get it all done.
Been without cable for 3 months now... still doing fine.
I purchased 3 pallets of that card game a couple of years ago now and I am still selling it (here and there). It will take me years more probably but I think in the end I will have had made a lot off of them.
Persistence pays off.
Maybe I can use the funds from that to help counter all the new taxes and inflation caused by the new 'pay for lazy people' healthcare system.
The shell station up the street has the best crispitos but they have been soggy lately.
They added one of those Hunt Bros. Pizza counters in there so I am guessing all their fresh stuff is suffering.
Been on vacation this week, getting the house ready to re-list.
They say the best ROI on selling a house is painting. I am painting like a mad man.
If it sells we will rent and then I will have some money to get a new pickup.
Do you remember the show 'You Can't Do That On Television?' I loved it so much.
Apparently they won't release it because they would have to pay a lot of people royalties.
Blue skies! Barthy burgers! Girls!
Saw Phantom of the Opera this last weekend. Very close seats. The Phantom was VERY gay this time (have seen it a couple of times).
It's basically the story of a pervert who lives in the walls of an opera house.
When he finally gets his kiss from the girl, his illusions are shattered... I guess he decided it was icky.
The thing I like about it (seeing as the phantom is mainly a 'chick' thing) is that it is SUPER CHEESY. I love the cheesy bits.
People were once again driving like douches this last weekend.
What is up with Congress trying to get a bill into law without actually passing it? Have they run mad?
Got a mystery package in the mail yesterday. It was the original keys to my Beetle. I totally forgot he said he was going to send them to me (like 13 months ago).
New Fairview is still trashy (did you think I'd tell you differently)?
I would love to put signs up all over my neighborhood telling people to clean up their crap!
That trashiness is going to cost me 10,000+ on the sale of my home (at least).
I took my Beetle in for fixin' up to a guy in Boyd who works on imports.
I can't wait to get it back!
Driving it up there was like piloting a little plane. There is no stereo so the fresh air box is pushing 60 miles an hour wind in your face while you fight the wheel for control.
Too much fun!
We have been a month and a half without any television service. Seems fine to me!
One week away from Daylight Savings change-over! Woohoo! Man I CANNOT WAIT!
Still waiting for the rain and mud to dry up...
Going to see Phantom of the Opera Sunday.
I visited an Apple store for the first time Saturday... OMG. It was so crowded I could not imagine. Made me want to shout... 'PCs are better, you freaks!'
The oscars are bunk. I discovered they are voted for by actors and other people with a direct interest in making or breaking rivals/friends.
Have been watching the Addams Family. What crazy, clean fun that show was.
I have been invited to be an Alpha tester for Stronghold Kingdoms. I am in heaven!
I have been painting the master bathroom white (over olive green) for a week now. Soooo many coats........ arg.
Textured another room last night and I will be painting it tonight.
I hope all this pays off and we sell the house in these shitty economic times.
My niece told me last night she got 'cartilage' pierced. I not sure how to take that.
Have you played Scrabble on Facebook? Man it's fun.
I have been in training for the last 2 days... what a beating.
I take my notebook in there to make notes and lists of things to do when I am out.
I love making lists (as you can tell).
Witnessed a real nasty cat fight on the front porch yesterday. It wasn't a lot of screeching it was some real down and out greco-roman wrestling by 2 big male cats.
I have Radiology call me when they need any sort of 'guinea pig' for various tests.
I have had a free CT, MRI, and Echo cardiogram.
I was told this time that I am near having a herniated disc if I am not careful (in lifting).
A MRI is very... closed in. Claustrophobic people need not apply.
For some reason there is a cold fan that blows right up your gown while you wait on the scan.
Chris and Loren came over and we played games last night.
I think Washington it more out of control (literally) now that it has ever been in the past. I don't mean in a power-play/hungry way I mean like out of control where no one seems to know whats going on and no one is in control. Like a an out of control top.
I emailed local weather lady Rebecca Miller about a Cyberpunk 2020 collectible card game Card called 'Rebbeca Miller'. The character on the card is a reporter that bears a striking resemblance to the real Rebecca Miller. The card game is several years old and I asked her if she knew about it. She replied and said she didn't recall but couldn't be for certain.
She probably thinks I am some stalker nut now.
I guess I'll cancel the severed cat head I was going to send her as a present...
We were supposed to have snow yesterday but it hit South of here. That makes me happy.
The yard is like a swamp. It really needs a good solid week of drying out.
The cafe here at the hospital ran out of Ketchup yesterday... everyone panic!
I am watching Faulty Towers at the moment. That show is a jam packed 30 minutes.
When I was in the cafe getting breakfast I saw them making the stuff for today's lunch. It's taco salad. Man do I love to eat. I can't wait for lunch!
Speaking of eating there is a Shell station on 730 and 287 that makes the best crispitos. I mean the best! They make all sorts of food items there and they have one of those Hunt Bros. Pizza in there too!
One downside to that place is that it's always crowded.
Decatur high is just down the street so in the morning you will usually see kids with too much money getting stuff there.
When I was a teen none of us (in my school) had a car less than ten years old.
All these kids have current model vehicles.
I guess that's my generation's "up hill, barefoot, in 2 feet of snow" story.
One of the cats had a puke-a-thon last night. Ech.
Another cat is hanging around the house waiting for Judy (our smaller cat). When I let Judy out they two hang out together. The strange cat is named Zeus. I caught him months ago and had him fixed. He hates me (for obvious reasons).
Its nice not having Dish Network (or any broadcast television). We spend so little time in front of the boob-tube now.
I wish it would stop raining. It seems like it will take forever for the ground to dry out.
I have been watching the British show 'Man stroke Woman'. Its very funny.
Me and the wife have not been sleeping well lately. I think the bed is given up the ghost. We need a new one.
Remember my comment about Decatur giving us the shaft about not offering space to shoot? Well, we just went to the park near downtown and shot the scenes we needs...
It was the nosiest PLACE ON EARTH.
Ambulances, firetrucks, kids, cars with loud sound systems... you name it.
When we finished it suddenly got SUPER quiet, of course.
A cop showed up and I thought someone called them on us (as usual) but the cop went into a house right across the street.
That's why we shoot in parks so no one can kick us out. It's public property fool!
For Decatur's lack of support I will be sure to add something to that effect to the final credits of the episodes of Season 2.
There is still snow is spots here and there. A reminder of the madness.
I figured out that I like winter weather ONLY if it a.) doesn't inconvenience me and b.) isn't windy.
I have been dissed by the 'big time' blogger in Decatur. I think I shall remove him from my blog list.
I have been asking for permission to film somewhere in Decatur in front of a business...
This town has been freaking silent. It hates me.
I hope we can sell our house in April and move back into Fort Worth.
I love West Fort Worth.
I am proof reading Chris' book. Oh man... I think one person will like it... Chris.
That picture is Chris hanging out at Trinity Park with the Mark Twain sculpture.
Some sites utilize way to many exclimation marks. Like this one.!!!
I watched Galaxy Quest on Bluray last night. That's a fun movie.
I found a website that lets you stream your webcam (or whatever). I am thinking Chris and I will try this out as a weekly meeting. Yeah, it's free.
I missed the Westminster Dog Show this year. I try to watch a little of it but we got rid of our Dish Network. Oh well.
Maybe others don't care for the Westminster like I don't care for the Olympics. They think it's pointless (like I think the Olympics are). See, I can consider everyone's opinions.
Why are there always lines at the WalMart gas pumps? It's like a 4 star restaurant... I know it ain't that good.
Finally picked up a Transformers mega-scale Skywarp from WalMart (to adorn my desk). It was 60 bucks! I was just waiting until it went on clearance. It was half price!
The weather has been soooo miserable lately. The yard is just mush when you walk on it.
I actually got my Ni America water bill this month! Miracles do happen.
I transferred my fish back into the big tank after a rigorous cleaning. I think they are happier. They are at least less stressed since their temp tank was in the cat room.
I want to sell my house. Please refer people to it! If you have them tell the realtor you referred them I will give you 3 thousand bucks. I mean it! Here's the link.
I started watching my Watchmen Motion Comic on BluRay last night. Many I love that!
I am going to write a review about it soon.
On my other blog I am supposed to be having help from my cohort in crime...
Stayed the night at WinStar (or should I say LoseStar) again. Nothing new to report, my luck still stinks.
I think I should decide that I will not go gambling ANYWHERE where it takes me more than 10 minutes to reach the location. I think it will save me lots of money.
I had a poker party for coworkers on Saturday. Its very embarrassing to have them drive through New Fairview to get to my house... Did I mention I live there?
There was a strange sight Saturday at the 114 West turn off of 287. There was an accident but apparently it involved a couple of large vehicles so by the time I got there they were sanding the muddy road to get traction for the mega-tow truck and they had a big dumpster with people picking up all sorts of trash on the road. I'm sure there's an interesting story there.
Anyway I was heading to Giant Burger when I saw that mess. They were VERY nice there. I am guessing they are 'economy-proofing' themselves by pleasing customers.
They have always been nice, they were just EXTRA nice this time.
Their burgers are Giant, just like it says.
Watched bits of the Superbowl while strolling the casino, not too interested.
I did notice that the stadium they were in was very bland. I can't wait to see what happens when it is in Arlington next year. I'm sure Jerry will pull out ALL the stops.
Everyone was going on and on about how Louisiana needed this because of Katrina BLABLABLA. So, you are telling me this win will mean all those abandoned, run down neighborhoods are going to get fixed because some grown men threw a ball around?
Hype.
I just think winning a Superbowl = good news for memorabilia sellers in the area + good news for local economies where the game is held (for about 2 weeks). That's ALL.
Hype.
Can you tell I'm not into sports. I am in a VERY SMALL minority but I am sticking to my guns. I think professional sports is a waste of time.
I think college sports is a tragedy. If they spent the money on academics how many cures could they have found by now? How many decent presidents would there be?
Yes yes I realize sports brings money into a college, but still, they focus on it too much.
I think the reason I am more conservative and want less government is because of this: What would happen if the government had some sort of collapse (budgetary, or whatever)? Well the more we depend on federal government the worse the impact on the public if it failed. Is my logic flawed there? Isn't the same view about not buying too many of one particular stock the same... don't keep all your eggs in one basket???
Here is a story about a town that began to print it's own money. Is this a trend towards a more local economy? Huuuurrrrmmm.
New Fairview needs to do this and call them Redneck Greenbacks.
I kid! I kid!
I have been butting heads with everyone at work latley. Penny pinching can cause real tension. Just buy it! I say. You got to spend money to make it.
There was a new image released from Tron 2 today. I nearly wet myself.
I am havingtrouble finding a local auto mechanic that works on Super Beetles. I need to get mine fixed up but I don't want to drive it half way across the Metroplex.
On the radio they call it the 'Metro Area' now, not the Metroplex. That's so trendy.
Makes me think of slums.
My wife swears that the Decatur Jack in the Box switched to smaller tacos.
I went this week and didn't notice it. I think they might have 'tried' a smaller one.
I think they tried scrambled eggs on their supreme croissant to (for a while).
I am thinking they keep trying new stuff to save money but it fails so they go back.
I was all ready to write a complaint letter too...
I call their tacos 'gut rot tacos'. Man those things give you heartburn. They are made with some sort of 'meat paste'. Nothing at all like a real taco, but I can't help myself!
Watched the Matrix on Blu-ray last night. Man that's an enjoyable movie. Why o why didn't just stop there!?
Had to reload my home PC because it was full of the 'virusus'.
I have gotten really good at doing that and I can have one reloaded in no time flat.
Some one in the office said we should get rid of ancillary systems and another person didn't quite hear them and asked what they said and I said: 'they said they wanted to get rid of Fancy Larry.' Everyone cracked up... including myself.
I popped in Heroes of Might and Magic 3 the other day (see previous post) and I am still playing it.
My wife says it looks so primitive.
I LOVE games that are 2-D.
I updated my website and added new video. Why don't you check it out?
Filed our taxes and we are getting a huge refund this year. We REALLY needed it!
I used to pay 200.00 to an accountant. I now pay H&R block online 50.00. No brainer.
I am selling my MASH series (now that I done watching it again) on Ebay and my psyche is punishing me by giving me MASH dreams every night.
There was no MASH episode with midgets, right? Or how about full frontal nudity? Man I have issues!
I can't wait until we have the ability to record dreams.
Does anyone else remember using BBS' (bulletin board systems)??? I used to use the following one: The Blasted Trumpet 817-467-7103
Caught yet another (different) possum under the house... how many freakin' possums are living under there!?!
Well, Bill Gates jumped on the 'blame Bush' bandwagon. So what all you 'blamers' are telling me is that even after more than a year out of office his policies are still making our economy stink?
O.k. I'll buy that BUT are you then telling me that ALL THIS MONEY that the current administration has be dumping out there has done nothing (good or bad)???
I call B.S.
Ofcourse as soon as the economy picks up, it won't be Bush's fault... you know that, right?
So when the economy pickups up we will know FOR SURE just how long a previous president's policies last, right?
Then we can go back and look at Bill Clinton's 'after presidency' and see how things were.
You can't have your cake and EAT it too.
WASHINGTON... BE A MAN, ADMIT TO YOUR SHORTCOMINGS!!!!
You would be surprised how many people would honor you instead of smack talk you if you fessed up to your humanity.
