Friday Thoughts

  • Chris finally came over last night (its been like 2 months!).
  • We played several games of NetRunner. We had to get our fix.
  • He also brought my truck back. My little white wonder on wooden wagon wheels!
  • I enjoyed driving his similar model Ranger (it had suff like cruise control and power everything) but I am happy to be back in my truck (with power nothing).
  • I've spent 1,500 to keep this one going so I better get another year out of it at least.
  • I am thinking of buying a 2011 when they get cheaper with the 2012's come out... unless the economy sinks and we are living on each other's corpses.
  • Good times!

Thursday's Thoughts

  • After hearing the bad economy news yesterday it seems the crafty White House planned the whole birth certificate reveal to move attention away from the fall of the US economy and Donald Trump was the patsy.
  • IGA Marketplace selles bagged cotton candy. I am addicted.
  • Remeber when that place was called Foodliner? What's up with that name?
  • I noticed there was NO ONE in the Family Dollar parkinglot today. I wonder if that place will stay in business. Not smart to open it so close to a Walmart and Dollar General.
  • Now all Decatur needs is a Dollar Tree. You know there's all that space across the street from Lowes...
  • The inventor of the teleprompter died yesterday... I hope Obama sends flowers.
  • Outside Taco Casa Tuesday. I've seen this guy around Decatur before. I think he is a local.

Wednesday Thoughts

  • Why is it that when ANYONE says or does ANYTHING that is contrary to the President he says they are playing politics? I guess that's the only excuse he has left.
  • I think Taco Casa's Taco Lites are far better then their regular tacos.
  • They released the President's birth certificate... FINALLY. I am wondering why it took so long. I am thinking it was to make the weirdos in the conservative party stand out as long as possible.
  • Nah, it probably just got lost in that stack of broken campaign promises he's got there in the White House.
  • Remember what I said about Donald Trump yesterday? Looks like I was right. He's useful for something at least, he got it done!

The wife's pride and joy...

Tuesday Thoughts

  • Ready for another day of tornados... bring them on!
  • I had some 'dry milk' last night. We prepared it the day before and let it sit in the fridge to get cold. I was nervous but it tatstes just like regular milk. The wife says it has a bit of an aftertaste but I don't know... it would do in a pinch.
  • In a story about Donald Trump and his 'presidential aspirations' USA Today did a poll and only 38% polled thought Obama was born in the US. Once again, why not reveal it and shut the naysayers up.
  • I don't think Donald Trump has any intention of running for President. I think he is being devil's advocate and drawing attention to all these issues conservatives haven't had a voice about.

Monday Thoughts

  • I finally got electricity down to my shed yesterday with the help of my Father in law. That turned out to be a big pain the in but but it works now!
  • Electrical wire is VERY expensive (the copper inside it). I did find a roll that was a hundred dollars cheaper (because it was round and not the flat kind).
  • I thought we were gonna get a tornado yesterday in New Fairview... no dice.
  • We had a fairly simple Easter lunch. It was very good.
  • The older I get the better simpler holiday meals appeal to me.

The stormy skies over New Fairview.

Thursday Stuff

  • Went to the Dallas Zoo yesterday via the TRE and DART. Panhandled no less than twice. I love Dallas!
  • The TRE has an all day pass and it's pretty nice to ride. You could ride it all day and write or something like that the whole time without being bothered (too much).
  • I have finally been to the Dallas Zoo... verdict... FW Zoo is better.
  • Nothing better than a zoo to keep you from having kids.
  • On other notes. Apple was named one of the 'least green' companies... guess who is on their board of directors... Al Gore. Te he he.
  • Silver is going so high! I just don't know what's going on now. I have been selling it on EBay. That is where you can sell it and make more than silver's spot price.
The view from the TRE end station.
The Zoo's front. I found it interesting that theres actually a freeway above it.

Wednesday Thoughts

  • Why did the President get a $12,000 tax refund? Shouldn't he automatically give that money back to the government?
  • Have you ever used Hughes Net? Man that sucks! I did a speed test at my moms and it was 380 kpbs... DSL is 1,500 (at minimum) and dialup is 52 kpbs. So it's better than dialup and worse than DSL (but costs like 60 bucks a month)!
  • Way to go Brad Watson with Channel 8! The first reporter EVER to stick it to the President!
A side view of Hoffbrau's Dr. Pepper Chicken on the menu.

Tuesday Thoughts

  • Ate at South Beach Taco yesterday. It was pretty good. Definitely not Tex-Mex but it was good.
  • The wife says it is like Fuzzy's Tacos.
  • I forgot to mention I saw that bad flip wreck last week outside the Autozone. The flipped truck must have been turning when it was hit to make it do that.
  • I wrote an Blog post for my other Blog: According To Whim yesterday about the US debt and I used the US Debt Clock website to get my facts... just looking at that page gets overwhelming since it is always moving.
Stay away from this brand of Egg Roll. It is totally phony! It looks like a wrapped Egg Roll but but it isn't, it's just molded to look like the shape of an Egg Roll! Also when you microwave them, you set them out to cool and it actually gets CRISPY while it cools. No telling what chemicals are in it!

Monday Thoughts

  • Went to Hoffbrau Steakhouse this weekend in FW off University. I had always assumed (from childhood) that Hoffbrau was a high class place... WRONG. It was good though.
  • Did you ever notice that Mr. Grace from Are You Being Served was the Deus Ex Machina of the series? He would always show up at the end and resolve whatever was going on.
WTF!? This should say... 'Old Stale Bakery Products' lol.

Friday Thoughts

  • I noticed that they are working on the spot for the new CVS. That will be nice. I like them better then Wallgreens.
  • When are we going to get a Home Depot in Decatur?
  • Do YOU remeber when Taco Casa's tacos were .25 each? I do... somehwere in the 80's.
  • I mowed the back yard last night. It was full of those springtime wild onions. Man did my clothes stink after that!
  • The hospital is about to start PET scans (like a cross between a MRI and a CT). I asked when I could bring my cats and dogs in... they said I was stupid.
  • What the heck is up with this sign? Its like someone was in a rush to make it and forgot that they had started the sentance on top.
This is Punch. Punch looks irritated that I am taking her picture.

Tuesday Thoughts

  • When you make any important decisions (like voting for someone) you look at their record and that SHOULD let you know how they are going to perform in the future...
  • Take a look at Obama's record in the Congress before he was elected...
  • Everyone who voted for that dunce GETS EVERYTHING THEY DESERVE. He has acted EXACTLY as he did in Congress... He's there for the perks or something, not to govern.
  • I've been listening to all the scare tactics (like the ones I showed you last week) about the budget cuts. That is the Democrats big weapon... using their constitutes ignorance to scare them into action.
  • We finally got rain Sunday night...
  • This is what always happens to us... we are always surrounded but hardly ever effected.

Friday Thoughts

  • So Obama states that the congressional Republicans are trying to 'gain political points' by their massive government cut backs to take care of the defecit... Really? How STUPID can you get??? No one is popular by cutting that much of the government's services. Its called being responsible...
  • Do you think your creditors/banks would allow you to run your finances and pay your bills in the same way the governement handles its finances and not put you in jail?
  • I HAVE to handle my finances responsibly... why doesn't the government have to?
  • How can anyone be aganist our government acting responsibly?
  • I know how... its probably those who have something to gain from government handouts.
  • The Democrats are pulling out their USUAL weapon when they are not getting thier way... FEARMONGERING...
Pelosi calls GOP plan 'war on women'...
Dem: Shutdown 'equivalent of bombing innocent civilians'...
Jesse Jackson compares to Civil War...
  • Sorry I was on my soapbox.
  • I started filling up the pool for it's yearly runnning. It won't be swimable until late May though (too cold).
  • I also did the first weed eating of the year... so it begins.
If you get this above picture... then you are Chris.

Tuesday Thoughts

  • Read this little story... Now are you ready for government run health care?

  • We went to Echo Canyon resort in Sulphur Oklahoma over the weekend. It was nice but pricey.

  • We stopped by WinStar and I up at some point but lost it all. I almost left where I started.

  • Note to self: don't get behind a semi hauling bees unless you want to scrape dead bees off your windshield for a week.

  • Went to Dave and Busters yesterday (took the day off from work). It was pretty fun.

No, this is NOT Photoshopped. I swear! This was on a product at Bed Bath & Beyond. I just thought it was funny looking.

Oklahoma sure is wild! Nah... we stopped at Cabela's on the way back.

Friday Junk

  • It's Friday Friday Friday. If you know what that means then you too spend too much time on the net.
  • They are doing inventory at Walmart now. There is a glut of managers standing around doing nothing.
  • I have made some big purchases at Walmart here in Decatur for the hospital. I usually have the dept manager help me with these 15+ thousand dollar purchases and they don't seem to give a crap. I am guessing its just another case of megastore 'don't care'.
  • If I had been at Fry's I would have been treated like a king.
  • I have been noticing a lot of thunderstorm activity around our house at night but nothing ever happens. We need some more rain.
The Ghosts of the Bayou exhibit at the Dallas Zoo.
